Human Rights Consortium, University of London / Lost rights, found justice? Refugee and Migrant Rights photo competition! Second prize winner
Since the beginning of the armed conflict in Syria, approximately 4.7 million people have left their country to settle in border regions such as Gaziantep, primarily in neighboring Turkey. Some of them were Doms.
Inspired by my fashion photography background, I photographed Doms in their cultural attire and living spaces, away from classical refugee photographs. instead of photographs that will get away from this painful picture and remind them of the pain they have experienced. I chose to photograph them with expressions that would not upset them in the future and would not remind them of the process they went through.
The project consists of a total of 77 photographs and 1 large mosaic collection. You can review the project details on my web page in the profile.
